Night Club Promotion - Attracting Big Crowds To Any Entertainment Venue Or Event

As the owner, manager, or promoter of any nightclub or similar entertainment venue, advertising is an extremely important part of your business. From the sound of the music, to the attractions or entertainment provided, customer service, food and beverages, outside appearance, special deals or discounts - all of these things work together to provide your venue with the clientele and revenue that your business will generate.

As the owner of a club, you obviously won't be doing all of the promoting yourself. Still, understanding the concepts and techniques that go into successful club or entertainment venue promotion and advertisement will help you to make the right decisions and hire the right people to do your promoting work. The club scene relies very heavily on young, energetic promoters to help get the word out there and bring exciting party-goers to the club every night.

Club Promoter Duties And Expectations

Some of your promoters might focus on bringing attractive or popular individuals, while others might put most of their efforts towards attracting musical acts and other forms of talent or groups to your club. Finding suitable employees or additional promoters could also very well be a job assigned to any club or entertainment venue promoter. Regardless which particular field of promotion you will be specializing in, you will always have to be, in the least, a sociable person.

Although the main purpose of any promoter is to attract more clientele and promote a good environment, any successful promoter will consider their job as a business in and of itself. You will be working directly with the promotions or events that the club is currently offering, but it will be your job to attract additional people through your own methods.
  • Any discount or special service that you might be able to provide to your star customers must be used accordingly. From something as simple as offering to buy your customers a drink upon their arrival, to more valuable agreements that might involve being able to skip past a line or get in for free, you must make the people you invite to the event feel as if they are receiving some sort of exclusive access.
  • As a club promoter or any individual who does advertising for an entertainment venue, you will need to know people. Your ideal contact is an extremely outgoing and sociable person who enjoys the type of venue or event that you are promoting - this type of person will bring friends and do some of your promoting work for you.
  • It is never enough to simply convince people to show up to an event you are promoting: you need to meet with and ensure that all of the people you invited have a good time. If you are unable to greet your guests right at the door, make an effort to let them know that you haven't forgotten about them and that you are there to make sure they enjoy their night. Talk to them about whats going on later that night, or even another upcoming event you are promoting - whatever it takes to make sure that they will be eager to come and enjoy their time with you.
